Flight # EY 472 AUH-CGK (B773-ETB) 6th May 2008
Flight # EY 471 CGK-AUH (B773-ETE) 7th May 2008
MAY 5---Puyat, dahil kay gummy... This is the usual me blaming her. We've actually had a very long morning. Initially, the plan was to go to Khalifa Police Station so she could apply for that "deemed necessary" liquor license. Yet, it turned out that we've showed up our asses in EY Staff Travel office, oh well to apply for that ID00, vacation leave ticket come December 2008. I was about to pass the form when something came out of my uncanny brain. What if I'd use my ID00 this coming July to go to JFK, then transit IAH via CO?! Hmmm good idea, rather than taking EK, direct. Sabi ko nga kay Myra mabuti ng EY pa rin, kapamilya! And she would throw this fact---"Assuming ka!Wala pa nga tayong US visa."
We've had a very delectable pasta and bread pan lunch at flat 1104, courtesy of Babe Matt. After laying a hand in their chores, we've finished the online application for the US D-visa (for crew). Although quite late, I was able to doze off for three hours prior to my trip to Jakarta and was able to have a haste conversation with my mahal.
MAY 6---As Myra and I were waiting for the OCC staff to attend to our inquiries, we've heard that one of the MNL crews was uncontactable. I could've wished, at that moment, that guy would shout out my name and I will be pulled out from CGK. It'll be a very joyous flight for me to serve my good friend Ghady (maswerte ka Ghado kahit ID90 'yan!) who will be travelling back home after bearing 2 years of hardships in the Middle East. But none of these transpired. Instead, the reality of not expecting Miang in my hotel room after a very long flight seared my wishful thoughts.
The almost 8 hours flight became less and bearable with a 1-hr and half rest at the crew rest compartment. Likewise, being the duty free operator (selling 8 items and utilizing a huge manual list of on-board products) killed most of my time.
At around past 1300H LT CGK, we arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Int'l Airport. The honor was given to me to open my owned L2 door and minutes after, I felt the rush of humid air from the outside, making my skin flush. Eventhough not familiar with the english term of 'tarimakaze', Ghemar and I just bid the guest with that expression, realizing after few nods and smiles from the Indonesians, that we meant to say 'thank you'.Most of them responded 'samasama' which connotes 'you are welcome'.
Salamat Siang Jakarta!
Activities during the 23-hours rest: telly, sleep, gym, sleep, buffet breakfast with Ionela, sleep, prepare for pick-up
MAY 7
My colleagues at front galley... Dwight (R2-Galley Operator) and Ghemar (R2A-Right Hand Side Cabin Operator)
I would like to thank the kindness of Fariza and Watti for translating my conversation with granny, (moaning 'sakit', which means the same in my native tongue) who initially complained having diarrhea but after drinking my remedy-tea, warm H2O and fitting herself into the blankie felt well and slept well. (I was just too inflexible in opening the FAP and filling out the damn medical forms)
Realization: Kaya ko rin palang manggamot ng simpleng karamdaman... Siguro kung may budget lang tinuloy ko na ang pagdodoktor kahit takot ako sa karayom.
I would also like to thank one of the guests for making me laugh while asking where to put properly the earplugs (yes, it's right to put both into the opening of your nose, harhar)
And to all guests who addressed me by my name...
To the catering staff who gave me a plastic bag full of my, rather everyone's favorite Indonesian Kropeck and that spicy sauce, thanks dude for not forgetting! Alam mo namang Indonesian babe ako and I might see you again next month, bawi ako, I'll bring you something from my hometown!
To Edward, the EY-CGK ground staff who had his World Tracer training in AUH with Popoi, rest assured that Jeff will receive your message!
To my colleagues, most especially in front CZ, thanks for the very nice flight, it wasn't long at all.
While in the bus(listening into Lifehouse's song- First Time) and thinking of all the experiences that I had in that pressurized bird, I can fully say, I'm loving my job and...
finally, I am confined no more...
P.S.
Pepper:Salamat sa oras at panahon at tayo'y nagkausap. Bawat pagkakataon na ganito ay nadudulutan mo ako ng ligaya. Actually nasa eroplano pa lamang ay excited na akong lumapag.
Saya cinta kamu, My Liefie!
